FORMAT

This class is designed for those that want to learn more about basic personal safety and self defence. This may be for professional reasons such as a high-risk job, or simply for personal reasons to feel safer while out in public.

What is self defence?

Self defence is a broad term that often gets mixed up with Martial Arts. In Martial Arts, individuals train their fitness, strength and skill for years to be able not only to defend themselves, but fight back and win. Self Defence however, is about any person being able to defend themselves and keep safe from harm, regardless of physical ability or skill level.

What is Personal Safety?

Personal Safety is a term used in the Self Defence world that refers to keeping yourself safe and out of danger. This is not to be confused with Health and Safety, however the two share similar ideas - prevention is better than cure. Our syllabus covers the basics of Personal Safety, including situational awareness, reading danger signs and de-escalation & communication skills.

    against various Strikes, Kicks & Grabs
