our principles and philosophy
Our teaching philosophy is to be able to actually apply what you have learned. In many cases when it comes to self defence, there is a common misunderstanding about what it actually is, and how to use it. The main focus of self defence is to keep yourself safe, which is why self defence can also be classed as personal safety.
Our Self-Defence training sessions and courses are developed by qualified professional self-defence trainers. We will not only teach you basic personal safety skills, but how to use physical force, and your rights regarding use of physical force.
Self Defence is inclusive, and should be usable by anyone. Our trainers will teach you specialist techniques that are suited to your own ability level, and will be effective with minimal effort or training.

Our self defence syllabus has been developed following the guidelines outlined in the BTEC Level 3 Self Defence Trainer which is certified by Pearson. Pearson is one of the UK's largest awarding organisations. didn’t start with the formation of Edexcel in 1996. It began as long ago as 1836, when a royal charter gave the University of London its first powers to conduct exams and confer degrees on its students. Alongside A levels, BTEC Nationals are the most widely-recognised qualification for admission to higher education. They are level 3 vocational qualifications that provide specialist, work-related learning across a range of sectors. BTEC Nationals are designed to equip students with the specialist knowledge, practical skills and understanding they need to progress along their chosen learning and career paths.
Pearson is regulated by The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). Ofqual regulates qualifications, examinations and assessments in England. They are responsible for making sure that regulated qualifications reliably indicate the knowledge, skills and understanding students have demonstrated. They also ensure that assessments and exams show what a student has achieved.
