DETAILED COURSE INFORMATION
Bespoke courses to suit your needs
Each of our courses is designed to be relevant for your own personal first aid needs. When planning a course, we consider your own circumstances and how we can integrate that into the course content so that you can get the most out of your training. We use this as an opportunity for you to also share your own experiences and gain insight into ways of approaching first aid situations you may experience.
Our courses and certification sit on the RQF (Regulated Qualifications Network) which is governed by Ofqual (The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation).
CONTENT & accreditation
We only provide First Aid courses and certification that are on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) which is a national standard regulated by OFQUAL. Below you can find information about our awarding body and the various organisations whose standards and practices we follow. You can click the logo to find out more details about each organisation.
Our first aid certification is provided by First Aid Awards Ltd. First Aid Awards is an awarding organisation specialising in first aid, health & safety, food safety, safeguarding and related qualifications. First Aid Awards (FAA) are regulated by Ofqual and SQA Accreditation and our qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
First Aid Awards Ltd is regulated by The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). Ofqual regulates qualifications, examinations and assessments in England. They are responsible for making sure that regulated qualifications reliably indicate the knowledge, skills and understanding students have demonstrated. They also ensure that assessments and exams show what a student has achieved.
The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) is Scotland’s regulating body responsible for accrediting qualifications other than degrees, approval, and quality assurance of awarding bodies that plan to enter people for these qualifications. They devise and develop qualifications, validate and review qualifications, quality-assure education and training establishments which offer SQA qualifications and issue certificates to candidates.
When creating course content, we follow the legislation and guidelines set by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) in regard to provisions of first aid, and the Health and Safety At Work Act 1974 (HASWA 1974). The HSE is a UK government agency responsible for the encouragement, regulation and enforcement of workplace health, safety and welfare, and for research into occupational risks in Great Britain. Our courses provide the training that satisfies the HSE’s need for provisions for First Aid.
First Aid Awards Ltd is a member of The First Aid Awarding Organisation Forum (FAAOF). The First Aid Awarding Organisation Forum (FAAOF) is a group formed to support regulatory requirements for Awarding Organisations/Bodies. The remit of the forum is to collaborate on best practice and maintain quality to ensure the integrity and currency of regulated First Aid qualifications, ensuring that they meet the needs of the sector.
We regularly re-evaluate our courses so that we are following the guidelines of the Resuscitation Council UK. The Resuscitation Council develops guidelines & policies, delivers courses and supports cutting-edge research. Through education, training and research, their aim is to ensure everyone in the country has the skills they need to save a life.
